A selection of poems written between the late 1960s to the early 1980s by one of the most significant poets of the post war generation and key driver in the new poetry of the late sixties.

The publication is also a warning about the ease with which poets can be forgotten when republications of poetic works are rare. Having published six books of poetry by 1982 all out of print, the poems here were the ones Tranter wanted to survive. (Preface)
