Description

The Electrical Experience
by Frank Moorhouse.

Angus and Robertson, Cremorne, 1974.
First Edition hardback.

Signed by the author.
Cover protected by plastic sleeve.

Winner of the Age Book of the Year Award, 1975. Moorhouse’s ‘discontinuous narrative’ of interlinked stories defined the writer’s early experimental style. A satire, The Electric Experience explores the relationship between George McDowell and his troubled relationship with his daughter, emblematic of the wider generational conflict of the 1970s. An example of Angus & Roberson’s new pitch to a younger generation under the stewardship of the former Oz magazine editor Richard Walsh (1972-1986).

Condition: Front pages marked and pages tanned throughout but otherwise clean and in very good condition.
