Description

Sparagmos
by George Alexander.

Experimental Art Foundation, Adelaide, 1989.
First Edition, softback. 38 pp.

Cover and design Kurt Brereton.

Shortlisted in the New Writing category of the 1990 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards.

Sparagmos is part elegy to a dead friend, the artist Piotr Olszanski who committed suicide in 1987, part polemic on art, part journey through 1980s Sydney. A marvellous, ambitious book, published by the Experimental Art Foundation, set up by artist and theorist Donald Brooks.

Condition: Minor wear to cover and spine and slight page discolouration. Otherwise, very good.
