Labor’s Troubled Times
Edited by David Burchell and Race Mathews.
Pluto Press, Sydney, 1991.
First Edition paperback.
A collection of arguments first published in The Australian Left Review trying to answer the identity crisis that befell the Australian Labor Party in the 1990s. Notably the editors deny the possibly that the Party’s intellectual bankruptcy would lead to the rise of the radical right. Includes arguments between Lindsay Tanner Stuart McIntyre, Bob Hogg, Bob McMullan and Marian Sims on the way out or forward. An interesting labor history document.
Condition: Small crease bottom right cover; the odd thumb mark, but otherwise good.
