Description

Keep it Quiet
by Pamela Brown.

Sea Cruise Books, Glebe, 1987.
First Edition paperback.

Cover design by Sue Ford.

Eighties poetry (and prose poems) by Sydney feminist poet Pamela Brown. The collection was published by the company Sea Cruise Books set up by fellow poet Anna Couani. Although the publication date says 1987, it was not in fact published until 1988, forcing publisher and author to distance themselves from the nationalist hoopla of the Bicentenary of white settlement with the statement ‘This book is not a Bicentennial project’ on the inside cover. The drawing for the front cover was produced by iconic feminist photographer and artist Sue Ford. An entertaining autobiographical sketch of Brown’s extraordinary career can be found here.

Condition: Very slight curl to top and bottom corners, small crease, tanned page, otherwise very good.
